Friends, here we all are, living through a time that is - that is…
… not based in anything resembling genuine sanity, kindness, or wise vision for the world.
How can we sustain enough inner wellbeing, while possibly feeling powerless in the midst of such constant turbulent uncertainty?
How take care of ourselves when we sometimes want to just hunker down and pretend none of this is happening?
Being kind to ourselves is more needed than ever before, in a zillion ways.
Being creative is one good way of being kind to ourselves.
And we are all immensely creative, whether by making arts, or crafts, or poems or knitted sweaters, or developing academic programs, or learning woodworking or how to play the guitar, or raising our children, or simply inventing good-enough dinners from the leftovers in the back of the fridge.
Being creative is a universal, natural human ability, that we all have within us, despite inner voices that tell us otherwise.
We are. We all are. In our own ways. Creative. Creatives: adventurers with endless imagination, diverse abilities, vision, and stories to tel.
This creativity, in its many forms, is a powerful resource for helping us to stay and feel sane, and thus more able to navigate a terribly overwhelming time in our long, long history.
So I'm now offering regular collage classes as an accessible, satisfying form of self-care.
Here, (bravely ignoring the voices in our head that say we don’t know how) we invent, relax, create prayers or stories, or just experiment with user-friendly materials such as scissors, glues, magazines, and other mystery-objects.
….NO prior collaging skill needed. All levels of experience welcomed.
